The River Valley GIS Users Group will mark its 6th year to host a GIS Day event to educate and promote geographical information and technology for local K-12 students on Wednesday November 12, 2014.
We are a non-profit corporation that works to advance, develop and promote geographical information and technology in Fort Smith and the surrounding area. Our annual GIS Day is one of the ways that we strive to accomplish this goal. This event has been a big success the last 4 years due in part to sponsors like you.
Each year we average 400-500 area students participating in this daylong event at Kay Rodgers Park. We have started planning once again for our annual event and anticipate 500 students, as well as an additional 50 staff and volunteers, in attendance.
We are seeking monetary donations as well as merchandise for door prizes. Please consider being a sponsor. If you helped make our event possible last year, THANK YOU!
Your sponsorship dollars are used to assist us in ensuring that every student that attends GIS Day is served lunch including drink and snacks, as well as receiving a sling bag loaded with educational items. We will also be hosting numerous exciting and informative educational sessions, GIS labs, map contest and student showcases. We need your help to accomplish this goal.
When you choose to help sponsor the 2013 GIS Day event, you have the opportunity to foster a passion in our area youth for a future in engineering, biology, earth science, and hundreds of other fields. You know that a well-trained and intellectual workforce is the most valuable asset to any company, and by helping these students learn the values of GIS in their community, you will be planting seeds for prospective future patrons and/or employees loyal to your company.
Please feel free to contact us to find out how we can work together to give our area students the best GIS Day possible while giving your company the exposure it deserves.
We hope to hear from you soon and thank you for your time.
